Owen

I saw Owen @ Knitting Factory tonight with Sean & Dawn. This show was even better that the NJ show in February, not just because I didn't have to go to Jersey. He played a longer set this time. Some new tracks I didn't know and some I did, as well as songs from his albums. And, as always, the humor level was set to ridiculous. I got a chance to talk with him after the set, and he didn't ask me if I was depressed this time. We joked around for a few minutes. I told him how I went running today and felt weird about wearing my Owen hoodie with the pink writing, since my next door neighbor is named Owen. He then asked me my name, and suggested I have Owen make a "Sergei" hoodie. He then asked if I was Russian, and when I said no and explained that my parents just liked Russian names, he said, "Can I do that? Like, can I give my kids Asian names even though I'm not Asian?" This may not seem as funny to you, the reader, but to Sean, Dawn & I it was quite amusing. Especially since it was his second Asian-related joke. The first involved getting an Asian instead of a dog. That sounds bad, but it really wasn't.

I bought two new Owen shirts. One of which is the "Owen Hates Kids" t-shirt. So excited! He was out of it when I saw him in Jersey. Oh, and I bought two new CD's. The first band, The Snake The Cross The Crown, was surprisingly good. I didn't really like them when a former co-worker lent me one of their CD's, but they were really good live. Definitely different than their albums. Anywho, I bought their EP & full length. So I'm up to 17 CD's in 3 weeks. I've been told I'm out of control. There may be some truth in that.

Ok, It's almost 4am. I need sleep. Much to do in the morning. Well, in a few hours, that is.
