The shortest month

February is almost over. Sadly, the semester is not. This is a rough set of classes packed into two days. As the weeks pass, I find myself slowly slipping away from my social life. Last night I stayed in and read. Tonight I went to the Lake Grove diner with Magdalene and read while she worked on a presentation. Eventually, it will be over and I'll be able to see the world again.

Schneider & Paula got married on the 17th (making her Mrs. Schneider). It was quite a party. We all did quite a bit of drinking, keeping the hotel bar open until 4am. So many drinks. Such a good time. This time, I wasn't doing mid-air splits. Had someone asked me too, though, I probably would have. Thankfully, no one asked.

A few days earlier, I spent Valentines Day with Magdalene. We decided to stay in and make diner, then watch a movie. The weather was quite awful: sleet, snow, rain, repeat. The only two movies I had with me were Saw II & Batman Begins. So, realizing that no movie screams romantic like Batman Begins, we watched it (my 5th time, Magdelene's 1st). All-in-all, it was a fun night.

I need new music. Lately, I have been enjoying The Shins "Wincing the Night Away" & "Chutes too Narrow," as well as The One AM Radio's "A Name Writ in Water." I'm also quite excited about thhe prospect of getting tickets to Ben Gibbard's solo tour. I've seen him play two acoustic shows. Both were quite amazing. Also, I have tickets to see Owen @ The Knitting Factory and Sparta w/ Aloha @ Warsaw in March.

In a few weeks, WEIH will be playing our first show in many, many months. I've missed playing with them. We've been working toward relearning the songs we've been (slowly) recording, and messed around with a couple of new ideas. What will happen next? Who knows? I just like playing music.

Ok, I have to get back to homework.

Goodnight.

Groundhogs Day!

February 2nd. Groundhogs Day. The day of Punxsutawney Phil and his crazy, little shadow. A day to celebrate. A day to watch Bill Murray in the classic film, Groundhogs Day. With any luck, I'll celebrate by bowling tonight.

Magdalene and I bought bowling balls & shoes the other day. Neither of us have ever owned our own balls & shoes, so we're quite excited. It's not like we're skilled in the art of bowling, but, at least, we can look stylish while we fight to keep from throwing the balls in the gutter.

I saw another awesome film the other night: Night Watch. Magdalene convinced me to finally watch it, after months of telling me how good it was. She was right. As a trade off, I got her to watch Saw. She's not a fan of scary/suspenseful films. In this case, I was right. She liked it. Now she's looking forward to seeing the two sequels. Ahhh... Saw! Always a good time.

The semester has begun. It's going to be a rough one. Tons of work. Wish me luck.

Ok, I have to run. Hope all is well with the rest of you.

Later on.
