Soooo...

Winter break is almost over. Spring classes start on Monday. I'm not ready to be the diligent student again. It's too soon. I'm feeling too lazy. It's only two days a week, but Tuesday means two classes, three hours each, back to back. This will surely be a rough semester. So before my free time is consumed by class work once again, I figured I should type another blog to catch you few readers (if there are any left) up on what has happened over the past few weeks.

I'm blogging from Magdalene's apartment. She did a friend a favor and covered his on-call shift for the weekend. Of course, as we're making plans to watch a movie, they paged her. I hope she doesn't have to stay long. It's a cold night. It's the type of night where people should be sitting at home, curled up in front of the TV watching a movie and drinking hot chocolate. Perhaps they'll let her leave early.

We (WEIH) practiced last Sunday for the first time since August. We were quite rusty, but that was to be expected. It was a fun time. We ran through all the songs from the "album," fumbling over parts and occasionally stopping to sift through the recesses of our brains to uncover the parts we had once written, but have since forgotten how to play from lack of practice. Overall, it wasn't too bad. The big shock of the night came when Sean gave a little speech that ended with him explaining how he wants Austin, Lou & I to be in the bridal party. Austin & Lou are going to be the ushers, and he asked me to be his best man. I'm still shocked. I was expecting his best man to be one of his brothers. I admit, I'm truly honored that he chose me. I'm surprised, but truly honored. Luckily, I have a year and a half to plan his bachelor party.

I saw some really good movies this week. Magdalene and I both had off on Monday, so we went to see Children of Men, which was fantastic. Later in the week, we watched Kung Fu Hustle. I accidentally bought it a year ago and finally took the time to enjoy it. Wow! I can't believe I slacked on this movie. The next night we watched Art School Confidential. Another fine film that pokes fun at art school stereotypes. Last night we went to Sean & Celia's apartment to watch Jackass 2. Funny and disgusting. A good night.

I just got a call from Magdalene. She's stuck at the hospital until morning. Damn!

Ok, I think I'll go back to watching Deep Impact, or try to find something else to do. Later on.

The 1st of '07

A new year. A chance to start over. A chance to try new things and live life a little more like the way we want it to be lived. This year i see it more as another year to push forward with what I am doing and the way I am living. It's a different feeling. There are plenty of things I still want to try, but this goes along with living my life the way I have been. I have been trying new things. I have been seeing the world through a different set of eyes. It's quite nice.

Here's a wrap up the events of Xmas: Sean wasn't the only person surprised with a guitar this year. While I was thinking I was smooth by teaming up with a bunch of people to surprise Sean with his new acoustic guitar, Magdalene was laughing to herself about how she was going to surprise me with one. Needless to say, I was blown away when I saw the case. She bought me a beautiful, new Taylor acoustic/electric. I can't begin to tell you how gorgeous it sounds. She's truly amazing.

New Years was a lot of fun, as we said goodbye to 2006 and hello to 2007 at Celia's apt (I guess you can say Celia & Sean's apt now). We had a small gathering, which was nice. Celia and I took our usual fill of Patron shots, and I had a few Cap'n Zero's. (I used Cap'n Morgan's Private stock in the Coke Zero this time. So good.) Mmmmm... Delicious. I didn't even have to work the next day, like I had initially assumed. No work = more sleep. I had wanted to stop by my friend's store in NYC in the morning, but the rain and post-New Years headache prevented me from doing this. Luckily, I didn't go. My friend was sick and didn't go to work that day. Another day, perhaps.

Though you can't tell from the length of this blog, I have been typing this off-and-on for the past 3+ hours. This is what happens when I multi-task. i get wrapped up in doing so many things that I forget to finish everything, or I do not complete things as thoroughly as I had initially planned. Sometimes I lose interest. Sometimes I get tired. Tiredness is the cause of this shortened blog. Also, I can't remember everything I wanted to talk about. Well, so be it. I'm sure I'll remember my thoughts later. Perhaps I will find new and semi-interesting things to talk about for next time... Or not. Either way, this blog is coming to a close.

Goodnight.
