Soooo...
Winter break is almost over. Spring classes start on Monday. I'm not ready to be the diligent student again. It's too soon. I'm feeling too lazy. It's only two days a week, but Tuesday means two classes, three hours each, back to back. This will surely be a rough semester. So before my free time is consumed by class work once again, I figured I should type another blog to catch you few readers (if there are any left) up on what has happened over the past few weeks.
I'm blogging from Magdalene's apartment. She did a friend a favor and covered his on-call shift for the weekend. Of course, as we're making plans to watch a movie, they paged her. I hope she doesn't have to stay long. It's a cold night. It's the type of night where people should be sitting at home, curled up in front of the TV watching a movie and drinking hot chocolate. Perhaps they'll let her leave early.
We (WEIH) practiced last Sunday for the first time since August. We were quite rusty, but that was to be expected. It was a fun time. We ran through all the songs from the "album," fumbling over parts and occasionally stopping to sift through the recesses of our brains to uncover the parts we had once written, but have since forgotten how to play from lack of practice. Overall, it wasn't too bad. The big shock of the night came when Sean gave a little speech that ended with him explaining how he wants Austin, Lou & I to be in the bridal party. Austin & Lou are going to be the ushers, and he asked me to be his best man. I'm still shocked. I was expecting his best man to be one of his brothers. I admit, I'm truly honored that he chose me. I'm surprised, but truly honored. Luckily, I have a year and a half to plan his bachelor party.
I saw some really good movies this week. Magdalene and I both had off on Monday, so we went to see Children of Men, which was fantastic. Later in the week, we watched Kung Fu Hustle. I accidentally bought it a year ago and finally took the time to enjoy it. Wow! I can't believe I slacked on this movie. The next night we watched Art School Confidential. Another fine film that pokes fun at art school stereotypes. Last night we went to Sean & Celia's apartment to watch Jackass 2. Funny and disgusting. A good night.
I just got a call from Magdalene. She's stuck at the hospital until morning. Damn!
Ok, I think I'll go back to watching Deep Impact, or try to find something else to do. Later on.
