Happy Tofurkey Day!

Thanksgiving 2006. I have my tofurkey. That's right. For the first time in my 10 years as a full vegetarian (12 years of no red meat), I have my tofurkey. Year after year, I wait until the last minute, and Trader Joe's is sold out. This year I went early. This year I get to eat a tofurkey. *sigh... I am thankful this year.

Also, I am going to see Saw III tonight... Finally! I'm probably going to be freaked out, since I am going by myself to the 10:15pm showing. But, it's ok, I'll be fine. I'm actually quite excited. Of course, it's raining, so it will be extra creepy when I leave the theater. I'll probably be the only person seeing the film. That will be really creepy.

Ok, time to go eat my tofurkey. Later on.

Waiting for snow

There's no snow scheduled. I haven't heard anything mentioned, at least. Today looks like a snow day though. I hope snow doesn't fall until after the semester's end. I'm not in the mood to commute to school during a storm.

The new Brand New record is pretty darn good. Definitely the best recordings I have heard from them. Darker. More Radiohead/Cure influenced. I've heard that some people don't like it, but I'm assuming it's because they didn't put out a record filled with poppy tracks.

Magdalene and I saw Death Cab @ The Theater (Madison Square Garden) with Ted Leo/Rx a few weeks ago. Two amazing shows. We missed Ted Leo the first night, but we did have Rosa's Pizza and tequila shots, so it was ok. The second night was one of the best Death Cab shows I have ever been to. The people dancing around like idiots (especially the guy who looked like he was river dancing on MTV's The Grind) were kind of annoying, but we ignored them to the best of our ability. All-in-all it was a fun two days.

We saw Speed Speed Speed on Saturday night @ Lit Lounge. I've missed them. They played a short set, but we got there to catch all but the first song. And it was great to see a bunch of our friends there. The Thai restaurant next door was quite fantastic as well.

I have a lot of work to do right now, so I'm ending this blog now. Just wanted to stop in.

Later.

77

I was born in '77, and this is my 77th post. Connection? There isn't one. I just felt like sharing.

Magdalene and I went to Crash Mansion last night to see Nicole's band, Young Professionals. They were up from TN to play CMJ, and were quite fantastic. I hadn't seen Nicole since the wedding in May. Plus, a lot of friends whom I don't see often enough were there. Rock music, alcohol, and good people. That's what I call a winning combination. After the show, we hung out at the venue for a short while, then made our way over to the Hop Devil Pub for more drinks. So, yeah, it was a great night.

We went to the movies with Alphonso, John & Sean on Friday night. The original plan was to see Running with Scissors, but Sean was running late, so we decided to see The Prestige. This worked out well, since I am a huge Christopher Nolan fan, and the film was fantastic. I really can't wait until the next Batman film, The Dark Knight, comes out.

The best part about this weekend was that Magdalene got to meet a lot of my friends. I was also excited for them to meet her. Ahhhh... good times!

Things are crazy at work. The holiday shopping has begun, so the store is busier than it has been in a while. This is good for my paycheck, but the busy days can really wear you out. Or, in this case, it can wear me out.

School is, well, school. Not much else I can say about that.

I guess that's it. I don't have much to type tonight, so I'm just babbling.

Goodnight.

Time flies

November has arrived. It's weird to think that in just over a month I'll be entering my final year of my 20's. So strange. I don't feel like I should be saying "I'm almost 30-yrs-old." Eh, whatever. I guess age is just what you make of it. Moving on...

I have my last observation to complete for this semester tomorrow morning. I'll be back in Sayville, which is nice, since it is where I did my first observation. Once this observation is complete I'll be able to focus more of my time on my school work. I have quite a bit to do before the semester's end.

Nicole will be in NY this weekend playing a show with Young Professionals. I'm extremely excited about this. It will be the first time since her wedding that I have seen her. It will also mean that a lot of my friends, whom I haven't seen in quite a while will be together. Good times!

Sean has finally gotten back to recording his guitar tracks. This has put me in a better mood about the recording. I was starting to feel like we would never finish. Who knows, maybe it still won't ever reach completion, but Sean's return to his guitar tracks is a step in the right direction.

My fingers are healing nicely. This makes me happy. My middle finger ia still a little sensitive, but it will get better. Magdalene said it looked like I cut it down to the muscle when she first saw the injury. Yikes! But, like I said, the healing process is going well.

I'm also getting over being sick (again). Being sick has become the norm at work, since everyone comes to work and shares their illness with everyone else. I attribute my latest illness to Frank. My sinuses were burning all weekend, and I have only just begun to recover. I still have a ton of crap in my sinuses. Ugh!

On a lighter note, Magdalene and I carved a pumpkin the other night, then watched Shawn of the Dead. We considered going to a Halloween party at my brother's new house, but I really wasn't feeling well. This was Saturday night, and I had really started feeling sick that night. But the pumpkin we carved is fantastic. She had never carved a pumpkin before, so it was a special night for that reason.

The new Owen album is amazing!

Ok, it's late and I'm tired. Goodnight.
